The Year Has Begun!
After an exciting and busy couple of weeks of preschool at the centre, we are well on our way to a fun year!
All of the staff along with the owners, Vanessa and Tim, have been working away to refurbish the building with fresh paint, shelves, tables and benches, and toys. Everything is based around the Reggio Emilia approach to open ended learning and play, and the children have been taking to it seamlessly.
We have welcomed several new children to the centre who have added to the friendly and caring dynamic of our students. All of the classes have been using various activities to familiarize the students with one another and their new routines. We have been enjoying the beautiful late summer and new fall weather which is perfect for incorporating outdoor education and exploration. This is a great way to get the children to discover the world around them and share experiences with their peers – children retain knowledge when learned for themselves! – plus who doesn’t love some much needed fresh air!
Over the next couple of weeks we will be planning our field trips for the year – things that engage and excite the students! Please stay tuned from your classroom teachers for more information.
We are looking forward to a great school year filled with lots of adventures and new knowledge of the world around us.
